Madad, a hackathon project: an offline Android interpreter between Pakistan Sign Language and Urdu/English, running a fine-tuned 4B Gemma model on the device at under 2 seconds per utterance. We have also shipped a production React Native app with push notifications through FCM and APNs, an in-app notification centre, English and Urdu right-to-left support, a controlled force-update gate for old app versions, and end-to-end tests with Maestro and Detox.
